History
Jerry Wermund, Owner/Author, created Rockon Publishing in Buda, Texas in the winter of 2002. The company name reflects his strong interest in the characteristics, properties, and processes of the Earth.
Jerry’s geologic poems were well received by several editors who led SBWI workshops. Editors in large publishing houses also complimented his work, but their management did not see them as commercial.
His first geologic book in poetry format, published by Rockon Publishing, is EARTHSCAPES Landforms Sculpted by Water, Wind, and Ice in April, 2003. This book is illustrated with worldwide, color photography. This books has been adopted for a new science program by the New York City Board of Education.
In 2004, Rockon Publishing produced The World According to Rock. This second geologic book in poetry format was written by Jerry Wermund and illustrated by Tony Sansevero. The art comprises beautiful water-colors. The final two pages are color photographs of rocks with definitions underneath.
In 2006, Rockon Publishing produced Focus on Minerals. The third geologic book in poetry format was written by Jerry Wermund and again illustrated by Tony Sansevero. The final three pages are color photographs of minerals with definitions underneath.
Rockon Publishing can also offer help with layout and design of your book and promotional materials. Tim Wermund holds a B.A. degree in Art from The University of Texas at Austin and has more than fifteen years experience in commercial printing.
